EdLeadia is operated by Tye Norbraten, a sole proprietor based in British Columbia, Canada. “EdLeadia,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the EdLeadia service and its operator. “You” refers to the person accessing or using the service.

You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction and legally capable of entering into this agreement. EdLeadia is designed for adult educators and school leaders and is not directed to children or students.

These Terms should be read together with the Privacy Policy and Content & Data Transparency page.

What EdLeadia provides

EdLeadia is a reflective school-leadership support platform for aspiring, new, and developing school leaders. It may include Leadership Focus areas, Leadership Patterns, Leader Voices, Quick Wins, Clarity Reset, Leader Lines, the Reflection Coach, written and audio reflections, synchronized captions, prompts, examples, and related professional-learning tools.

Content may be informed by anonymized school-leader interviews, reviewed survey or interview responses, dissertation-informed synthesis, doctoral-level leadership analysis, and curated practical tools. EdLeadia is designed to help users pause, reflect, recognize recurring leadership patterns, and consider proportionate next steps.

EdLeadia is an evolving service. Features, content, access levels, usage limits, membership options, trials, pricing, and provider integrations may change over time, subject to active subscription terms and applicable law.

Professional responsibility and emergencies

EdLeadia provides general professional learning and reflective support. School-leadership decisions are context-specific and may be affected by local law, school or district policy, collective agreements, employment rules, privacy duties, professional standards, child-protection requirements, and the particular facts of a situation.

You remain responsible for your professional decisions and for consulting the appropriate people, policies, and procedures before acting. Depending on the situation, this may include a principal, supervisor, HR department, union or professional association, legal counsel, safeguarding lead, district office, regulator, or other responsible authority.

EdLeadia is not a law firm, HR department, union representative, regulator, healthcare provider, therapist, crisis service, safeguarding agency, school district, or official policy authority. It does not provide legal, HR, medical, therapeutic, financial, safeguarding, emergency, or official policy advice.

In an urgent situation involving immediate risk, abuse, self-harm, violence, a medical emergency, child-protection concerns, or a threat to a school community, contact the appropriate emergency service, safeguarding authority, school or district process, or legally required reporting channel. Do not rely on EdLeadia for emergency support.
Accounts and advisory access

Some EdLeadia features require an account, membership, invitation, advisory placement, trial, subscription, or institutional arrangement. You agree to provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably current.

You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and for activity that occurs through your account. You may not sell, transfer, sublicense, publish, or share your account unless EdLeadia has expressly authorized shared access through a team or institutional plan.

Advisory or beta access may be invitation-only, limited in duration, provided without charge, subject to usage limits, and changed or withdrawn as EdLeadia evaluates the service. Advisory access does not guarantee future free access, continued availability, a particular feature set, or eligibility for a future paid plan.

Notify EdLeadia promptly at support@edleadia.com if you believe your account has been compromised or used without authorization.

Reflection Coach and AI-supported features

EdLeadia may provide an AI-supported Reflection Coach to support reflection, perspective-taking, planning, and professional growth. The Reflection Coach may use a curated knowledge base built from reviewed, anonymized, synthesized, and permission-appropriate leadership content.

AI-generated responses may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, overgeneralized, non-unique, or unsuitable for your specific context. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to use any response.

Do not treat Reflection Coach responses as legal advice, HR direction, therapeutic support, safeguarding guidance, official policy interpretation, emergency support, or a substitute for consultation with appropriate professionals or authorities.

Reflection Coach prompts and responses are processed as described in the Privacy Policy. EdLeadia may review conversations only for the operational purposes described there. Conversations will not be published, quoted, used as testimonials, treated as interview or research data, or transformed into EdLeadia content without separate permission.

Similar or identical responses may be generated for other users. Your use of an AI-generated response does not transfer ownership of EdLeadia’s underlying content, frameworks, knowledge base, platform instructions, or intellectual property.

Use generalized wording such as “a student,” “a staff member,” “a family,” or “my school context.” Do not paste records, emails, reports, assessment data, names, investigation details, or sensitive workplace documents into the Reflection Coach.
Privacy and confidential information

Your use of EdLeadia is governed by the Privacy Policy. EdLeadia is a professional-reflection platform, not a confidential school recordkeeping, case-management, HR, legal, medical, or safeguarding system.

You agree not to submit:

  • student, family, staff, school, or district names;
  • identifying workplace details or unusual facts that could reveal a person or organization;
  • student, personnel, medical, disability, disciplinary, safeguarding, or investigation records;
  • HR files, legal documents, privileged communications, government identifiers, passwords, or complete payment-card numbers;
  • information you are not authorized to share; or
  • urgent safety or reporting matters that belong in official emergency, safeguarding, or legal channels.

If you accidentally submit sensitive or identifying information, contact support@edleadia.com. EdLeadia will review what can reasonably be removed or corrected, subject to legal, technical, backup, security, and operational limitations.

User submissions, feedback, interviews, and testimonials

You retain any rights you hold in content you submit. You grant EdLeadia a limited, non-exclusive permission to process, store, transmit, and display submitted content only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and administer the feature you choose to use, as further described in the Privacy Policy.

General product feedback, ratings, suggestions, and feature ideas may be used to improve EdLeadia without compensation, unless a separate written agreement states otherwise. This permission does not allow EdLeadia to publish private Reflection Coach conversations or transform a personal leadership story into EdLeadia content.

Interviews, recordings, transcripts, direct excerpts, testimonials, named case studies, and public promotional uses require the consent or permission applicable to that activity. Participation in interviews, advisory activities, surveys, and testimonials is voluntary.

Interview-grounded material may be edited, anonymized, generalized, paraphrased, tagged, synthesized, or transformed only in ways supported by the applicable source permissions. Users must not attempt to identify interview participants, workplaces, schools, districts, or communities represented in anonymized or synthesized content.

Acceptable use

You agree to use EdLeadia lawfully, respectfully, and for professional learning, reflection, coaching, or leadership development. You must not:

  • submit confidential, identifying, private, unlawful, or unauthorized information;
  • use EdLeadia to facilitate unlawful, discriminatory, harassing, abusive, retaliatory, deceptive, or harmful conduct;
  • copy, scrape, bulk download, systematically extract, reproduce, archive, redistribute, or publicly post member content except as expressly permitted;
  • reverse engineer, probe, attack, overload, interfere with, or bypass security, membership, usage, payment, or access controls;
  • use EdLeadia content, prompts, scripts, audio, datasets, taxonomies, summaries, or outputs to train, fine-tune, evaluate, or build another AI system, chatbot, dataset, content product, or competing service without written permission;
  • share login credentials or provide unauthorized access to member-only materials;
  • misrepresent EdLeadia content as certification, official district guidance, legal advice, HR advice, safeguarding direction, medical advice, or policy authority;
  • attempt to identify participants or connect anonymized material to a real person or workplace; or
  • use EdLeadia in violation of law, professional standards, workplace duties, or these Terms.
EdLeadia content, intellectual property, and permitted use

EdLeadia owns or licenses its branding, platform design, page layouts, written and audio content, support tools, prompts, frameworks, leadership patterns, scripts, captions, datasets, taxonomies, summaries, graphics, software, and other materials, except where content is clearly identified as belonging to another person or source.

Subject to these Terms, EdLeadia grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the platform for your own professional reflection and development.

You may take reasonable personal notes and print or save materials only where EdLeadia provides a download or print function or otherwise expressly permits it. This licence does not permit institutional sharing, public posting, resale, systematic copying, dataset creation, removal of attribution or ownership markers, commercial republication, derivative products, AI training, or development of a competing service.

Access to EdLeadia does not transfer ownership of any EdLeadia intellectual property to you.

Third-party services and platform availability

EdLeadia may depend on third-party services for hosting, security, backups, membership access, forms, email, analytics, media delivery, AI processing, and future payment processing. Those providers may have their own terms, privacy policies, security practices, availability limits, and technical requirements.

EdLeadia does not control every aspect of a third-party service and is not responsible for third-party websites or services outside EdLeadia’s reasonable control. A provider’s outage, policy change, pricing change, security event, or technical limitation may affect an EdLeadia feature.

EdLeadia aims to provide a reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, secure, current, complete, or universally compatible access. Maintenance, updates, security work, provider issues, testing, or circumstances beyond reasonable control may cause temporary interruption.

During advisory, beta, MVP, or early-launch periods, features may be experimental and may change more frequently.

Trials, subscriptions, payments, cancellation, and refunds

EdLeadia may offer advisory access, previews, trials, individual subscriptions, team access, school or district licences, or other paid services. The specific plan description, price, currency, taxes, billing frequency, usage limits, trial terms, renewal terms, cancellation method, refund terms, and access period shown at checkout or in a signed agreement form part of your contract.

Paid access does not begin until the applicable checkout or activation process is completed. Payment processing may be provided by a third party. Institutional arrangements may be governed by a separate signed agreement; if that agreement conflicts with these Terms, the signed agreement controls for that arrangement.

Automatic renewal

If a plan renews automatically, the renewal terms, billing interval, price, cancellation method, and any required renewal notice will be disclosed before purchase. You may cancel according to the checkout terms and applicable consumer-protection law.

Changes affecting an active paid plan

EdLeadia may update plans prospectively. Changes affecting an active paid subscription will be handled according to the applicable subscription terms and law. Where required, EdLeadia will provide advance notice, seek agreement, or allow cancellation without penalty.

Refunds and cancellation

Refund eligibility, cancellation timing, and the date access ends will be stated at checkout or in the applicable written plan terms. Nothing in these Terms removes a cancellation, refund, or consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

Until paid subscriptions are activated, references to payments and renewals describe future functionality and do not create a current paid offer.

Disclaimers, no guarantees, and limitation of liability

EdLeadia is provided on an “as available” basis for professional reflection and learning. To the extent permitted by law, EdLeadia disclaims warranties or conditions that are not expressly stated in these Terms.

EdLeadia does not guarantee professional advancement, employment outcomes, leadership results, school improvement, conflict resolution, certification, performance ratings, emotional outcomes, decision accuracy, user satisfaction, or any particular result from using the platform.

You are responsible for how you interpret and apply content, prompts, scripts, examples, audio entries, interview-grounded insights, and AI-generated responses.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, EdLeadia will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from or related to the service, including professional decisions, workplace outcomes, reliance on content or AI responses, data loss, account issues, interruptions, or third-party services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EdLeadia’s total aggregate liability arising from or related to a paid service will not exceed the amount you paid directly to EdLeadia during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. For unpaid access, EdLeadia’s total aggregate liability will not exceed CAD $100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Suspension, cancellation, and termination

EdLeadia may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where it reasonably believes an account has violated these Terms, created a privacy or security risk, shared access improperly, attempted to copy or scrape content, interfered with the service, failed to pay an amount due, or used the platform unlawfully or harmfully.

Where reasonably practical and appropriate, EdLeadia may provide notice or an opportunity to correct a non-serious violation. Immediate restriction may occur where necessary to protect users, participants, information, intellectual property, or service security.

You may stop using EdLeadia at any time. Paid cancellation and post-cancellation access will be handled according to the applicable checkout or plan terms and consumer law.

Provisions concerning intellectual property, restricted use, privacy, payment obligations, disclaimers, liability, governing law, and provisions that by their nature should continue will survive termination.

Changes, governing law, and contact

EdLeadia may update these Terms as the platform, services, providers, membership options, pricing, or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date will be revised when changes are made.

Where a change is material, EdLeadia may provide additional notice through the website, account interface, checkout flow, or email. Where required, EdLeadia will request renewed agreement rather than relying only on continued use.

These Terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the applicable laws of Canada, without limiting any consumer protection or other mandatory rights that apply in another jurisdiction.

If a dispute occurs, you and EdLeadia agree to make a reasonable effort to resolve it informally before beginning formal proceedings, unless urgent relief is required or applicable law provides a different process.

Questions about these Terms may be sent to support@edleadia.com with “Terms Question” in the subject line.

Use EdLeadia as a reflective support space, not as a replacement for professional responsibility. For workplace, legal, HR, safety, privacy, safeguarding, emergency, or policy matters, use the appropriate people and official processes in your context.
